Core characteristics of PC brick machine and industry development trend

        As a specialized equipment for producing new building materials such as concrete permeable bricks and imitation stone bricks, the PC brick machine's core function is to process raw materials such as concrete, recycled aggregates, and industrial waste residues into PC brick products that meet engineering standards through standardized molding processes. Driven by the dual carbon goals and green building materials policies, such equipment has gradually transitioned from traditional production tools to environmentally friendly and intelligent equipment, becoming an important support for the resource utilization of construction waste and the construction of new urbanization. It widely serves the production needs of building materials in various fields such as municipal engineering, rural revitalization, and ecological restoration.

        The product system of PC brick machines exhibits diversified classification characteristics, adapting to production needs in different scenarios. Divided by automation level, they are mainly classified into three categories: manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic. Manual equipment is easy to operate and suitable for small-batch trial production or small-scale processing scenarios. Semi-automatic equipment requires manual assistance for raw material feeding, finished product handling, and other processes, balancing cost control and production flexibility, making it a common choice for county-level infrastructure projects. Fully automatic equipment can achieve a closed-loop operation from raw material mixing, spreading, molding, to palletizing. Models equipped with intelligent control systems can also monitor production parameters in real time, making them the mainstream configuration for large-scale production bases. According to industry data, the market share of fully automatic PC brick machines has increased to 47% in 2025. Divided by molding process, it includes two core types: high-frequency vibration pressing and static pressing. High-frequency vibration pressing achieves dense molding of raw materials through the synergistic effect of high-frequency vibration and pressure, suitable for universal production with multiple raw material ratios. Static pressing relies on high-pressure pressing to ensure product density, suitable for processing special products such as high-strength PC imitation stone bricks, and the compressive strength of the molded bricks meets relevant industry standards.

        In the context of environmental protection transformation, the core characteristics of PC brick machines are mainly reflected in three dimensions: raw material adaptability, energy saving and consumption reduction, and solid waste utilization. In terms of raw material adaptability, mainstream equipment can flexibly accommodate recycled aggregates in a proportion ranging from 20% to 85%. It can process concrete waste, gravel waste, and other materials generated from building demolition into qualified production raw materials, meeting the target requirement of increasing the resource utilization rate of construction waste to 60% as stipulated in the "14th Five-Year Plan for Circular Economy Development". Some models can even increase the proportion of construction waste to over 30%. In terms of energy saving and consumption reduction, the new generation of equipment, through optimizing motor configuration and adopting servo drive systems, reduces unit energy consumption by 20% compared to traditional models. Production lines equipped with waste heat recovery devices can save approximately 1,500 tons of standard coal annually, further enhancing energy utilization efficiency. In terms of solid waste utilization, the equipment can accommodate industrial waste residues such as fly ash, slag, and desulfurization ash as auxiliary raw materials, promoting the resource-oriented transformation of industrial solid waste and assisting enterprises in achieving environmentally compliant production. Such environmentally friendly equipment has been listed as supporting equipment for green building material production in many regions and is being promoted. For example, Guangxi and other places provide special fund subsidies for related equipment renewal projects.

        The application scenarios of PC brick machines are deeply tied to the needs of urban and rural construction, exhibiting targeted adaptability and value in different fields. In the construction of sponge cities, specialized permeable PC brick production equipment can process permeable bricks with good permeability, which can be laid on sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and other areas, effectively reducing surface runoff and alleviating urban flooding issues. In the sponge city pilot project in Xiamen, permeable brick paving areas can absorb 35 millimeters of precipitation per hour, with an increase in annual groundwater recharge; after the adoption of permeable brick paving in Beijing Olympic Park, surface runoff decreased by 83%, achieving good ecological benefits; in the supporting road project of the zero-carbon plot in Yuhang, Hangzhou, the sidewalks paved with imitation stone PC bricks and sponge facilities work together to build an interconnected sponge network of "roads-green spaces-water systems". In the infrastructure transformation for rural revitalization, small semi-automatic PC brick machines, with their simple operation and controllable cost, are widely used for brick production in rural roads and cultural squares, promoting the improvement of rural living environments. In the field of prefabricated construction, PC brick machines suitable for prefabricated component production can process standardized bricks, aligning with the direction of building industrialization promoted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The demand for such equipment grows positively in line with the development goals of prefabricated construction. In old city renovation projects, fully automatic PC brick machines, with their large-scale production capacity, can quickly supply municipal bricks such as sidewalk bricks and bus stop bricks, ensuring the orderly progress of the project.

        The current PC brick machine industry is steadily developing along the direction of deepening environmental protection, upgrading to intelligence, and iterating towards modularization. At the policy level, the newly revised "Emission Standards for Air Pollutants in the Wall Material Industry" in 2024 has compelled small and medium-sized enterprises to carry out equipment updates,预计形成年均15亿元的设备替换市场; after the implementation of the new version of the "Emission Standards for Air Pollutants in the Building Materials Industry" in 2025, the emission limits for particulate matter and other pollutants will be tightened by more than 40% compared to previous standards, further raising the environmental protection threshold of the industry; the "14th Five-Year Plan for Building Energy Efficiency and Green Building Development" issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development clearly requires that the proportion of green building materials used in new construction projects from 2026 onwards should not be less than 40%, continuously stimulating the demand for environmentally friendly PC brick machines. At the technological level, leading enterprises have begun to deploy IoT remote monitoring systems and AI visual inspection technology, reducing equipment failure rates by 40% and increasing fuel utilization rates by more than 18% through stable temperature control; the application of laser cladding technology extends the wear life of molds to more than 120,000 cycles, reducing production losses; some enterprises have also developed distributed control systems based on industrial Ethernet, which can monitor 128 process parameters in real time, enhancing production stability. In the market, driven by the "Belt and Road" initiative, domestic PC brick machines have gradually expanded into Southeast Asian and African markets due to their adaptability advantages. The export value is expected to exceed 3.2 billion yuan in 2025, with Southeast Asian markets accounting for 45% of total exports, becoming an important growth segment overseas.

        When purchasing PC brick machines, enterprises need to consider comprehensively based on their own production positioning and policy compliance requirements. If focusing on small-scale, multi-category production, priority can be given to semi-automatic, small and medium-sized equipment, taking into account both production flexibility and cost control. If planning for large-scale, standardized production, fully automatic intelligent production lines can better ensure production efficiency and product consistency. The type of raw materials is an important consideration. It is necessary to confirm in advance the suitable proportion of equipment for recycled aggregates and industrial waste residues to ensure it matches the enterprise's own raw material supply situation. At the same time, equipment that meets local environmental standards and has complete production qualifications should be selected, with attention paid to the supply of vulnerable parts and the ability of post-operation and maintenance services to avoid affecting production continuity due to equipment failure. For enterprises with export needs, it is also necessary to consider whether the equipment meets the technical standards and application scenario requirements of the target market, and to address challenges posed by international environmental regulations such as the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. From the perspective of industry trends, equipment suppliers with full-process service capabilities such as raw material formula design and factory construction guidance are better suited to meet the long-term development needs of enterprises.

        With the continuous deepening of green building materials policies and the acceleration of the industrialization process of construction, the PC brick machine industry will usher in structural upgrading opportunities. The market share of environmentally friendly and intelligent equipment will continue to increase, and the ability to utilize solid waste resources will become an important component of a company's competitiveness. As a key equipment connecting solid waste treatment and new building materials production, PC brick machines will continue to promote the development of circular economy, provide environmentally friendly and reliable building materials processing solutions for urban and rural infrastructure construction, and drive the steady transformation of the building materials industry towards a green and low-carbon direction. In the future, the research, development, and application of new equipment such as photovoltaic-driven and carbon footprint traceable equipment will further expand the industry's development space and achieve coordinated development of environmental and economic benefits.
